Used Tire Reception Centres: WMS INSPIRE

Decree-Law No 111/2001 of 6 April 2001 establishes the principles and standards applicable to the management of used tyres and tyres, with the objectives of preventing the production of this waste, retreading, recycling and other forms of recovery, in order to reduce the amount of waste to be disposed of, as well as to improve the environmental performance of all stakeholders during the life cycle of tyres. The Decree-Law was amended by Decree-Laws Nos 43/2004 of 2 March 2004, 178/2006 of 5 September 2006 and 73/2011 of 17 June 2011. According to the law, the collection of used tyres, upon delivery to the appropriate locations, is done free of charge to the end user. In addition to the delivery to the collection network of Valorpneu, licensed for the management of used tyres at national level, which is available for consultation on the map, it is possible to deliver used tyres to distributors against the sale of tyres of the same type and in the same quantity, which must refer them for retreading or to the valorpneu collection network.
