This collection of documents comprises correspondence, reports and newspaper cuttings in relation to the provision of water supply to Geelong and surrounding districts. The correspondence forming part of this collection of papers dates from 1885. It is addressed to the Town of Geelong. Much of it is from the Department of Mines and Water Supply.A conference of local municipal bodies in the Geelong district interested in the question of a better water supply scheme for Geelong and district was formed by 1887.This series includes newspaper cuttings reporting on their proceedings. It includes also reports on the Geelong Water Supply by the Department of Victorian Water Supply. The newspaper cuttings are not dated in some instances.
