VPRS 14921 General Correspondence Files, Single Number System

This series comprises correspondence files maintained by the Foster Sewerage Authority (VA 1979). The files contain inward and copies of outward correspondence relating to all functions of the Authority.The files are identified by an alpha prefix followed by a two part number. An alpha prefix F and a primary number 15 have no known meaning as far as the file classification system is concerned. Subsequent numbers relate to a subject area.South Gippsland Water Board (VA 2677) assumed responsibility for the functions and region covered by Foster Sewerage Authority from 1984. Correspondence between 1984 and 1994 relating to the functions and region formerly covered by Foster Sewerage Authority may therefore be located in VPRS 14919 General Correspondence Files, Two Number System.
