National interest outdoor life

Available data report reviews and decisions. Data is updated continuously after the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency makes new decisions. The latest update was made after decision 2017-10-19. Areas of national interest in outdoor activities shall have great outdoor values due to special nature and cultural qualities, variations in the landscape and good accessibility to the public. Many different types of Swedish landscapes should be represented in the sample. One of the starting points for areas is that these should be important for many people’s outdoor life and that they can be used frequently and widely. Both for visitors from large parts of the country; maybe even from all over the country and also from abroad. It is of great importance that designated areas of national interest have good timeliness by regularly carrying out new knowledge and assessments.
