Flooding Depth DE (Flood Risk Management-RL 2. Cycle 2016-2021)

The data set contains the water depths in the flooding areas. Water depths are provided for three flooding scenarios (low, mean (Me) and high probability (Hi)) of river (RW) and coastal floods (CW). The water depths are divided into five classes (0-0.5 m (1), 0.5-1 m (2), 1-2 m (3), 2-4 m (4) and 4 m). In addition, the water depths are divided into three areas: Flooding area (1), informative flooding area (2) and flood protected area (3). These two divisions are summarised in the attribute “T_class”. The first number of the attribute “T_class” indicates which area it is and the second number is the water depth class. For example, T_class = 23 denotes a news flooding area with a water depth of 1.0-2.0 m. The flooding depths of flowing waters and inland waters is the difference between water level above NHN and water sole as NHN. The flooding depths of coastal waters are the difference between the seabed above NHN and the sea chart zero plus tidal height. On behalf of the water management administrations in Germany, the Federal Institute for Water Studies (BfG) manages the data of reporting on various water-related EC environmental guidelines in the national reporting portal WasserBLIcK. On the basis of this data basis, the BfG provides selected map and data services in coordination with the Länder Working Group Water (LAWA). The services provided here are based on nationally homogenised datasets. The timeliness of the data shall be reviewed by the competent authorities in the context of the completion of a reporting cycle and the data set shall be updated if necessary. Therefore, there is no guarantee here to find the most up-to-date data set of the competent authorities. Other administrative levels in Germany (country, district, district, municipality) may provide services in a higher spatial and temporal dissolution on this subject.
