<b>Characteristics and mechanisms of ocean fronts-induced decomposition of particulate organic matter and its implication for marine carbon burial</b>

This study aimed to investigate the dynamic changes in fresh POM formed through phytoplankton growth at different stages and intensities of frontal activities using a largescale voyage survey conducted during the summer (July), fall (October), and winter (February) of 2018 to 2019. By combining stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes (δ¹³C-POC and δ¹⁵N-PN) in POM, and geochemical indices, this research elucidate characteristics and mechanisms of strong decomposition of POM induced by ocean fronts and its implication for marine carbon burial.
