CERP Central Everglades Planning Project - Hyrologic Monitoring in WCA3B

The overall objectives of the project are to (1) quantify hydrologic responses downstream of the CEPP structures to address uncertainties in individual structure and area flow relationships for ecologically beneficial or harmful flows; (2) to assess the uncertainties associated with construction features, such as levee removal, canal plugs and spoil mound removal in maximizing spatial extent of restored flows; (3) to assess whether potential negative effects of flow restoration can be mitigated by redirecting flow using vegetation management or whether other adaptive management strategies need to be implemented; and (4) to assess whether active marsh improvement is successful in redirecting flow in the historic southerly direction in the Blue Shanty Flow Way. Data will be used to assess CEPP and inform adaptive management strategies to implement as part of the CEPP Adaptive Management Plan.
