Supporting raw gel, SDS-PAGE, and Sanger sequencing data for recombinant elafin expression in Pichia pastoris

This dataset contains supporting raw data and supplementary figures for the manuscript entitled “Secretory expression of recombinant elafin in Pichia pastoris reveals in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity”. The deposited files include full-length original unprocessed agarose gel images and Tris-tricine SDS-PAGE images corresponding to the construction and verification of the recombinant pPICZαA-elafin plasmid, transformation confirmation in Pichia pastoris X-33, and purification of recombinant elafin. The supplementary figure files contain labelled and unlabelled versions of the corresponding gel or SDS-PAGE images. The labeled versions were annotated only to indicate lane identities, gel boundaries, molecular weight or DNA marker positions, and expected fragment sizes. The corresponding unlabelled images represent the raw images and were not cropped, spliced, rearranged, or adjusted for brightness/contrast. This dataset also includes Sanger sequencing validation data confirming the correct insertion and orientation of the elafin gene in the pPICZαA expression vector. Sanger sequencing was performed solely for plasmid construct verification and not for de novo sequencing, genome sequencing, transcriptome sequencing, or discovery of a novel DNA/RNA sequence. Therefore, no GenBank accession number was generated. File description:1.
