THE ROLE AND TRANSFORMATIONAL PROSPECTS OF LIBRARIES IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS
收藏资源简介:
This research paper explores the evolving role, structural adaptation, and strategic significance of libraries in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As generative models, automated information processing systems, and algorithmic curation transform how knowledge is produced and retrieved, the traditional responsibilities of libraries are undergoing a fundamental shift. This study analyzes the limitations of AI systems—including algorithmic bias, hallucination (the generation of false information), and digital ephemeralness—and highlights the irreplaceable value of libraries in providing verified knowledge, data stewardship, and ethical information access. Furthermore, the paper outlines a hybrid operational model that integrates AI tools for cataloging and patron services while preserving the essential human role of librarians in fostering critical information literacy, protecting confidentiality, and maintaining physical spaces for social engagement.
