From its establishment, the Chief Secretarys Department co-ordinated the policy of government and acted as a channel of communication between government and its departments.This series contains copies of outward correspondence from the Chief Secretarys Department to other government departments, regarding Government policy decisions and outcomes. The central registry was required to register, index and maintain duplicate copies of outward correspondence.Unfortunately, this series has been damaged, and a majority of the correspondence documented within is difficult to decipher.
