European Coastal Deformation and Climate Hazard Exposure: Supporting Datasets for Coastal Risk Analysis

This dataset serves as supporting material for the paper “European coastal deformation drives unequal exposure to climate hazards”, compiling key quantitative data linked to the study’s analysis of climate risk disparities across European coasts. It includes Excel-formatted datasets that capture:Patterns of coastal subsidence related to land use;Spatial distributions of exposure, including area, population, buildings, and assets in coastal zones;Socioeconomic gradients across high-risk areas, such as salary levels;Demographic vulnerability metrics, including the age structure of coastal populations;Observational records from tidal stations.These data collectively quantify the interactions between coastal deformation, human systems, and climate hazard exposure, enabling a comprehensive assessment of unequal risk profiles across Europe’s coasts.In addition, the repository contains:Europe_Computational_Data: datasets generated and calculated during the experimental and computational analysis stages of the study;egms_get: the code used to download European Vertical Land Motion (VLM) data from the European Ground Motion Service.
