"This dataset presents high-resolution quarter-hourly electricity generation data for Austria covering the period from January 1, 2015 to February 26, 2026. The data were obtained from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform via the SMARD electricity market data portal under the CC BY 4.0 license.The dataset includes actual net electricity generation (in MWh) across multiple renewable and conventional energy sources. Renewable sources include biomass, hydropower (run-of-river and storage), onshore wind, offshore wind, photovoltaics, and other renewable sources such as geothermal and biogenic gases. Conventional sources include nuclear, fossil brown coal (lignite), fossil hard coal, natural gas, hydro pumped storage, and other conventional fuels.The original data are provided at a 15-minute temporal resolution and represent net generation (electricity fed into the public grid minus internal plant consumption). Data coverage varies across energy sources depending on measurement availability, scheduled data, forecasts, and extrapolation methods.This dataset is suitable for applications in renewable integration studies, load-generation balancing, energy forecasting, power system stability analysis, machine learning modeling, time-series analysis, and energy transition research. The high temporal granularity enables detailed intra-day variability and volatility analysis of renewable and conventional generation sources.The dataset is provided in CSV format and merged into a consolidated archive for long-term energy system research."
