Galilee groundwater bore and petroleum well data

## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. \n\n\n\nThis dataset is a digital summary of all the tests carried out on petroleum and CSG wells in the Galilee subregion contained in the Well Completion Reports (WCRs) of the QDEX database\n\nThis dataset contains Drill Stem Test (DST) and other formation test results from the WCRs and CSIRO Pressure Plot formation (horner) pressures.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nThis dataset was created to provide a summary of the types information available for each well to be used in various different products including Galilee DST data (reference to dataset).\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nAll wells in the Galilee subregion were identified from petroleum & CSG well shape files downloaded from IRTM website (Internet resource and Tenure Mapping) 12th Nov 2013.\n\nFor the wells with an open file (publicly accessible) Well Completion Report (WCR) the report was downloaded. The types of test completed on the well and the availability of the results vs raw data was recorded in the data index worksheet.\n\nInformation recorded for each well in the data index:\n\n\\*\tCompany\n\n\\*\tDrill date\n\n\\*\tTotal depth\n\n\\*\tGround level\n\n\\*\tDrilling data\n\n\\*\tDrilling target\n\n\\*\tAre there results for the following tests?\n\no\tCore taken?\n\no\tFracture stimulation reports\n\no\tComposite/formation(interpreted) logs\n\no\tInterpreted rock properties\n\no\tFormation Micro imagery / Acoustic scanner\n\no\tDrill stem tests (DST) /formation tests results\n\no\tDrill stem test interpretation\n\no\tWater analysis\n\no\tGas isotopes\n\no\tGas desorption\n\no\tAdsorption isotherm analyses\n\no\tProximate Analysis (Coal Quality, e.g. moisture, ash, )\n\no\tVitrintie reflectance\n\no\tCoal petrology or petrography reports\n\no\tPalynology\n\nThe DST results were manually entered for each well that had them (these were used to construct Galilee DST Data). The stratigraphy information for each well was manually entered (values in feet were converted in metres). For a small number of wells water analysis data, isotopic gas analysis and gas composition data was also manually entered.\n\nCSIRO Pressure Plot DST was downloaded and added to this dataset as a separated worksheet.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2015) Galilee groundwater bore and petroleum well data.
