资源简介:

The Fire Product: Investigating Fire Occurence in Northern Botswana was part of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme Data and Information System (IGBP-DIS) Regional Satellite Fire Data Compilation CD-ROM. The data base consists of burnt areas delineated on Landsat-MSS images. The data base was put together to investigate fire occurrence in the Chobe National Park in Northern Botswana. The study area comprises the southern part of the Chobe National Park and the Chobe Forest Reserve. It includes part of the Sandveld, alluvial deposits in the old Linyanti floodplain and the northern part of the Mababe Depression, remainder of an ancient lake. An area of 81.6 x 68.7km, common to all satellite images and located between 18 deg 00'S and 18 deg 58'S and 23 deg 52'E and 24 deg 55'E was interpreted. The data set consists in 12 Landsat sub-images from year 1972 to 1991 showing the fire scar pixels in each image. The image map upper left pixel coordinate is given for each sub-image.
