STATA and Excel files contain variables representing 1) the Ranney Index for approximately the 1940 to 2010 period and 2) the Holbrook and Van Dunk index for about 1970 to 2010. Two, four, six, eight, and ten year moving averages computed. Variables measuring the indexes’ component parts also included. Look for my own measures of state competitiveness soon.
