PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a biomass compound suitable for manufacturing a biomass compact having an excellent water proofness and strength with improved productivity. SOLUTION: A biomass compound is used for a material of a biomass compact. A manufacturing method of the biomass compound comprises a step of heating an unreacted product including a ground product of a plant including a saccharide or a veneer and a polyvalent carboxylic acid in a non-pressure state to initiate a hardening reaction and cooling in the middle of the hardening reaction to stop the hardening reaction.
