Chickpea owns the highest area of cultivation and production across all grain legumes in India. Its productivity is severely affected by salt stress. A comparative transcriptomic assessment of root tissues in four chickpea genotypes having contrasting phenotype and performance under salt stress was done to decipher the genes and the regulatory mechanism underlying salt stress tolerance in them.
