This dataset comprises two horizontal infiltration experiments conducted in January/February 2025 at the Laboratory for Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Engineering, Universität der Bundeswehr München, in collaboration with Ruhr-University Bochum. Both experiments utilized fully dry soils irrigated continuously at a controlled rate of 3 L/h for 50 hours. The central objective was to investigate and quantify the influence of macropores on infiltration behavior and water transport in unsaturated soils. One experiment featured an artificially created macropore network, while the other served as a reference scenario without macropores. Measurements included temperature profiles, volumetric water content, and runoff data. These data serve primarily to validate and refine the numerical infiltration model developed by project partners at Ruhr-University Bochum, specifically aiming to improve predictions related to macropore-driven infiltration dynamics under controlled laboratory conditions.
