Pairing weather radars with eBird data for large-scale monitoring of swallow and martin communal roosts

This repository contains the code and the mains datasets analyzed in Belotti et al., 2025. Shapefile ebird_sf.zip has all the eBird checklists reporting high counts of one of five species of swallows and martins (Tachycineta bicolor, Progne subis, Hirundo rustica, Riparia riparia, and Petrochelidon pyrrhonota. Checklists were made within the Great Lakes region of North America from 2000 to 2022. Shapefile ebird_other_sf.zip has all the eBird checklists reporting high counts of one of four species that might also form large aggreations in the Great Lakes region.
