Coastal Environment Overlay

Areas of protection of water quality, wetlands and aquatic habitats, and the preservation of the natural character associated with lakes, rivers, wetlands and their margins throughout Gisborne district as identified in the Tairawhiti Resource Management Plan. This policy seeks to preserve the natural character of the Coastal Environment. It also encourages activities to locate in areas where the values that make up natural character have been compromised.
