TAXONOMIC DATABASE OF THE COASTAL CILIATE AND DINOFLAGELLATE COMMUNITIES OF NORTHERN BAY OF BENGAL

This work is an objective of the thesis titled “Seasonal Dynamics Of Microzooplankton And Its Trophic Role In The Pelagic Food Web Of Northern Coastal Waters Of Bay Of Bengal” by Aishee Bhowal The objective is as follows: "The creation of a taxonomic database of the coastal ciliate and dinoflagellate communities of northern Bay of Bengal" To fulfil this objective and achieve the database development of coastal microzooplankton from the northern coastal waters of the Bay of Bengal, a total of 273 alveolate (ciliates and dinoflagellates) microzooplankton have been processed from two seasons (winter monsoon season and summer monsoon season) across three years (2018, 2019 and 2021). This dataset can help fill the knowledge gap concerning microzooplankton biodiversity studies in this region.
