HP, buildings, and temperature data in Switzerland, supporting the letter Equivalent Storage Homogenization of Thermostatically Controlled Loads via Dynamic Programming. Homogenization is essential for aggregating thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) and other flexibility resources (e.g., electric vehicles and distributed energy storage systems) to enable their participation in power system operations. However, existing homogenization methods either suffer from high computational costs or risk compromising user comfort. The novelty of this letter is mainly in two aspects: (1) a dynamic programming approach that homogenizes TCLs into an equivalent energy storage model, which achieves low computational cost by avoiding solving optimization problems; and (2) a clear error analysis that identifies the application boundaries of the proposed method.
