This dataset was collected through structured surveys conducted across 54 rural communities in India to examine the adoption of Jivamritam, a community-based drinking water purification technology. The survey includes responses from 906 individuals and covers demographic characteristics, sources of drinking water, and psychological factors influencing technology adoption. Specifically, the study adopts a two-stage regression strategy that uses cultural traits as instrumental variables to address endogeneity in behavioral adoption models.
