The materials selected for the project are HB6 and HA11. HB6 is an elite two-rowed and helled brewing barley cultivar approved by Hubei Province, mainly used for beer brewing and can also be used for animal feed, whereas HA11 is six-rowed and naked barley cultivar, also known as "Qingke", is a staple crop in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau region. Barley grains were collected at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days post anthesis (DPA) with three biological replicates for transcriptome sequencing.
