Flood prevention action programmes (PAPI) in Pays de la Loire

This data represents the scope of flood prevention action programmes (PAPIs). PAPIs are tools for implementing the natural flood risk prevention policy that complement existing regulatory arrangements (such as natural flood risk prevention plans). Established since 2003, they contract commitments from the state and local authorities to carry out programmes of studies and/or work to prevent flood-related risks with a comprehensive approach to prevention at the level of the risk basin. Two types of “PAPI” approaches are distinguished: complete or intentional. A labelling scheme aims to ensure the coherence and relevance of projects, in particular in support of socio-economic analysis for the most important investments.
