This repository contains the code and data used to generate the results published in the research paper "The potential for electrifying industrial utility systems in existing chemical plants" (doi: 10.1016/j.apenergy.2025.125988).The aim of the research was a) to understand how the electrification of utility systems could look under different combinations of fluctuating electricity, natural gas and CO2 emission allowance prices, and b) to examine if, and to what extent, cost-optimal systems lead to CO2 emission reductions while delivering constant utilities.Five existing chemical processes from an ethylene value chain in the Port of Rotterdam were used as case studies.This repository contains the following documents:Readme fileelectricity price input dataHeat and power demand input dataModel codeOutput data (results)<br>
