Notochord-specific transcriptome in Atlantic salmon using RNA-seq. Salmo salar

This study reveal the dynamtic transcriptome of the notochord during early development prior to the formation of vertebra in Atlantic salmon. Expression patterns of essential structural and signalling genes, as well as pathways, provide clues to the segmentation of the notochord and mineralization of the notochord sheath.
