Genealogical analyses of three cultivated and one wild specimen of Vitis vinifera from GreeceScope: In this study, we sequenced three cultivated and one wild variety of grapevine native to Greece and found that they cluster with cultivars from ancestral regions indicating that Greece maintained old genetic material and was not recolonized by modern cultivars from northern Europe. Our results also demonstrate that the modern ARG-based approach used in this study can potentially resolve complex relations between varieties of unknown origin.
