Data for Microbiological Quality of Bathroom Towels Used by Students of a University in Ghana

This dataset supports the findings of the manuscript "Microbiological Quality of Bathroom Towels Used by Students of a University in Ghana" (Kpeli et al., submitted for peer review). Four files are included: Pour plate.xlsx — Colony count data from the pour plate technique on Plate Count Agar for 80 bathroom towel swab samples collected from students in four hostels (Edna, Alex Dey, Five-Star, and Defiat) at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, Ghana. Counts are recorded across serial dilutions (10⁻¹ to 10⁻⁵), with TNTC (too numerous to count) indicated where applicable. CONFIRMED GRAM NEGATIVES.xlsx — Biochemical identification results (indole, urease, citrate, and other tests) for Gram-negative bacterial isolates recovered from towel samples, with confirmed organism names. Confirmed Gram positives.xlsx — Identification results for Gram-positive bacterial isolates recovered from towel samples, all confirmed as Bacillus cereus. Questionnaire Data Epicollect_survey.csv — Structured questionnaire data collected via the Epicollect5 mobile application from 80 student participants, covering sociodemographic characteristics, towel ownership, usage duration, washing frequency, drying practices, and hygiene behaviours.
