VPRS 12252 Memos to Public Officials (Accounts Branch)

This series consists of memos from the Accounts Branch of the Department of the Treasurer to Members of Parliament and senior management in Government Departments, including the Treasurer himself. The memos provided required information on the various aspects of the Victorian economy. This included financial statistics for areas of Government revenue and expenditure, reports dealing with certain aspects of financial administration, preliminary reports summarising the purposes of proposed legislation, and reports dealing with socio economic phenomena in Victoria and Australia.The purposes of these memos was to inform voting Members of Parliament of issues relating to proposed Government Finance legislation, and to inform Departmental management of financial administration issues when required.
