Germline deletion of Kruppel-like factor 14 does not increase risk of diet-induced metabolic syndrome in male C57BL/6 mice

The transcription factor Kruppel-like factor 14 (KLF14) has been associated with type 2 diabetes and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) through genome-wide association studies. The mechanistic underpinnings of KLF14's control of metabolic processes remain largely unknown. We studied the physiological roles of KLF14 in a knockout (KO) mouse model. 10 samples from pituitary (5 WT and 5 KLF14 KO) and 10 samples from inguinal white adipose tissue (5 WT and 5 KLF14 KO) were analyzed转录因子Kruppel样因子14（Kruppel-like factor 14, KLF14）已通过全基因组关联研究被证实与2型糖尿病及高密度脂蛋白胆固醇（HDL-C）存在关联。目前，KLF14调控代谢过程的分子机制仍尚未完全阐明。本研究利用基因敲除（KO）小鼠模型，探究了KLF14的生理功能。共分析了10份垂体来源样本（含5份野生型（Wild Type, WT）样本与5份KLF14基因敲除样本）以及10份腹股沟白色脂肪组织来源样本（含5份野生型样本与5份KLF14基因敲除样本）。
