EU referendum data 1972-2018

This is the primary data set to a wide-range study of European referendums from 1972 to 2018. Data to 28 EU member states are provided and include the turnover and YES/in-favor results. Moreover, the referendums are classified according to four distinct types (sovereignty, EU matters, constitutional and policy issues). The novel concept of sphere distribution is hereby introduced and includes five elements (private: 1; family: 2; society: 3; state: 4; institutional: 5). All data are backed by official sources when possible. This data set is the prelude to a relevant journal paper to be announced in late 2019.
