This dataset utilizes multiple analytical techniques to characterize organic matter in water bodies and soils of the 1st to 10th drainage canals in the Hetao Irrigation District: three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy is used to obtain the fluorescent composition of organic matter; Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is adopted to acquire the functional group characteristic information of organic matter; Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy is employed to get the humification degree and aromatic structure characteristics of organic matter; and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzer is applied to measure the concentration of organic matter in the aforementioned water bodies and soils. The problems that this dataset can solve include comprehensively obtaining the chemical composition and structural characteristics of organic matter in the water bodies and soils of the Hetao Irrigation District via combined qualitative and quantitative techniques. The beneficial effects that can be achieved are that this dataset can provide important theoretical basis and data support for the rational and efficient utilization of water resources and the construction of high-standard farmland.
