Purpose: To characterize the estrogen receptor alpha (ESR1)-dependent transcriptome of neurons in the arcuate nucleus that regulate female bone density Method: Using RNA-Seq we compared gene expression profiles of microdissected arcuate nuclei from 3 control (Esr1fl/fl) and 3 conditional knockout (Esr1fl/fl;Nkx2-1-Cre) female mice.
