The very high arsenic-containing groundwater has been collected from tube well of 70 ft from North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. The culturable study enables the isolation of arsenic-resistant bacteria which were found to reduce toxic arsenate species during their growth utilizing various arrays of organic carbon substrates.
