Site Images and Reports from an Archaeological Evaluation and Open Area Excavation at Westfield Allotment Site, Beech Close, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, 2020

This collection consists of reports and site images from an evaluation and later open area excavation at Westfield Allotment Site, Beeching Close, Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Archaeological intervention was undertaken by Albion Archaeology in March and July 2020, prior to residential development. The excavation area contained a ditch (G1026/1028) and several pits, none of which produced finds that could provide reliable dating evidence. The only archaeological finds were a small number of worked flints of late prehistoric date recovered from the subsoil and a tree-throw.
