We have performed gene expression microarray analysis of two types of dementia, Alzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), using two kind of samples, frozen brain tissue and lymphoblastoid cell lines. 60 samples were included: 35 brain samples and 23 lymphoblastoid cell lines. AD group was divided in sporadic early onset and familial due to mutation in PSEN1 gene. FTD was divided in genetic by mutation in MAPT, GRN and C9orf72 genes, and sporadic with tau and TDP43 deposition. Gene expression was analyzed with Clariom D microarray (Affymetrix). Differentially expressed genes (DEG) were obtained adjusting a linear model with empirical Bayes moderation of the variance. Significance threshold was set at p-value <0.05 and fold change >1.5 and <1/1.5. In the final analysis, two samples FTD.M2.B1 and AD.MF.L3 were discarded as outliers, and thus are not included in the records.
