Bacterial communities in irrigated rice rhizosphere

Since nitrogen (N) is a necessary component for rice yield, urea is widely applied to the soil as a source of N, which has an adverse effect on the ecosystem. The objective of the project was to characterize rice rhizospheric microbiome using NGS technology and identify the microbial functional groups in response to nitrogen fertilizer application during rice growing period.
