First-Year Students at the Engineering Academy of Denmark, 1984

The survey deals with students matriculated at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Engineering Academy of Denmark (Danmarks Ingeniørakademi, Maskinafdelingen) as of 1 September, 1984. The purpose of the survey is to analyse the effect and scope of the information material which the Department of Mechanical Engineering sends out to the institutes of education which qualify students for studying at the Engineering Academy of Denmark, as well as to examine what expectations the students have as regards the education. #Furthermore, the results of the survey will be used to point out ways in which the information material may be changed in order to contain a more accurate description of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the results will also be used as a basis for an adjustment of the form and content of the education so that it meets the expectations of the students. #The survey is based on a questionnaire which was handed out to the three classes which started at the department on 1 September, 1984. 72 of the 73 first-year students completed the questionnaire, which gives a response percentage of 98.6
