Site Data from an Archaeological Investigation at Wide Lane, Southampton 2017 (SOU 1770)

This collection comprises the Digital Archive (reports, images, a site drawing, a spreadsheet, GIS data and site records) from an archaeological investigation undertaken by Wessex Archaeology between October and December 2017 on land formerly occupied by the Ford Motor Company factory in Southampton. The watching brief, undertaken during the breaking up and removal of the concrete slab covering the site, revealed World War II structures, Anderson Shelters and a concrete bunker, corresponding to features shown on a 1941 plan of the Cunliffe-Owens aircraft factory which then occupied the site.
