Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Beacon Fen Energy Park, Lincolnshire, September 2024

This collection comprises image, text, spreadsheet and GIS data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Beacon Fen Energy Park, Sleaford, Lincolnshire. The work was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology in September 2024. A total of 26 trial trenches were excavated on part of the access route to the site and a total of 17 of the 28 excavated trial trenches contained archaeological features and deposits (61 percent), with their distribution indicating archaeological remains are present throughout much of the evaluated area barring an outlying land parcel that was also trenched. The uncovered features comprise 22 ditches, four gullies, three furrows, two pits, and a pit or ditch terminal. Most of these formed part of an enclosed farmstead and associated field system of mid-late Romano-British date, although some would have formed elements within the post-medieval and modern landscape.
