<b>Prototype of Smart Attendance System Using RFID and NodeMCU with Cloud-Based Storage</b>This paper presents the development and testing of a smart attendance system using RFID technology integrated with a Wemos D1 Mini microcontroller and Firebase Realtime Database for cloud-based data logging. The system enables contactless, automated attendance recording by scanning RFID cards, retrieving user information (name, student ID/NIM, class), and logging the data with timestamps in real time to Firebase.The prototype was tested in a classroom scenario to evaluate its accuracy, stability, and practicality. The system demonstrated an average response time of 2–3 seconds per scan, successfully differentiating between registered and unregistered cards, providing immediate user feedback through an LCD and buzzer, and logging attendance automatically. The implementation reduces administrative workload, improves data integrity, and demonstrates the potential for IoT-based automation in educational environments.This work serves as a foundational step toward scalable, IoT-based attendance systems supporting digital transformation in academic institutions.<b>Keywords:</b> RFID, IoT, NodeMCU, Attendance System, Firebase, Smart Attendance
