Clinical research entitled “Long-term effect of semaglutide on the glomerular filtration rate slope in high-risk patients with diabetic nephropathy: analysis in real-world clinical practice.”we concluded that the use of subcutaneous semaglutide in a population at risk for rapid deterioration of renal function, conferred an improvement in the eGFR slope in the medium-long term.No real-life studies have yet analysed the effect of semaglutide on the eGFR slope in the medium or long term, especially in patients with CKD stages 3 and 4. In the same manner, no previous studies have examined the combined effect of SGLT2i and semaglutide on kidney function, let alone with a mean follow-up of 3 years. For these reasons, we believe that this research may be of interest. Our study showed that in patients already treated with SGLT2i, adding semaglutide conferred an even stronger benefit on kidney function.<br>
