Uruguay Inflation Rate

Uruguay’s annual inflation eased to 4.2% in August 2025 from 4.53% in July, driven by softer price gains across key categories. Clothing and footwear saw deeper deflation (-1.09% vs -0.81%), while slower increases were recorded in transport (1.2% vs 2.14%), furniture and home articles (1.45% vs 2.64%), information and communication (4.47% vs 5.1%), food and beverages (4.6% vs 5.1%), healthcare (5.48% vs 6.55%), and financial services (5.83% vs 6.57%). In contrast, inflation accelerated in recreation and culture (-4.58% vs -3.82%), restaurants and lodging (7.22% vs 7.01%), and alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gas (4.15% vs 3.49%).
