In the Tolna district near the Hungarian city of Paks about 100 km south of Budapest, Hungary’s only nuclear power plant is operated on the Danube. In addition to the existing four reactors, two new reactors with a net electrical capacity of 1,000-1.600 MW are to be built at the Paks NPP site. The finalisation of the reactors is planned for 2025 and 2030, and the operating time is expected to be 60 years.
