VPRS 13797 Country Roads Board Contract Registers

Section 455, Part XVI of the "Local Government Act 1915" allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purpose of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contacts to be in writing.The registers record the details in summary form of Country Roads Board contracts entered into by the Shire Council. Information contained in the registers includes:* Description of the contract* Locality* Name and address of the contractor* Date of commencement of the contract* Amount of the contract.
