In the Japanese subterranean termite Reticulitermes speratus, a dramatic shift in the breeding system has occurred in subarctic populations. The aim of this study is to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of breeding system variation in R. speratus through population genetic analysis using MIG-seq and comprehensive transcriptome analysis among populations using RNA-seq.
