Number of children per km² in older nurseries

The map shows the number of children per km² that stays in older nurseries and may therefore be exposed to more lead. Before 1945, mainly lead drinking water pipes were built in buildings. This has stopped from about 1960. The drinking water companies mostly replaced the outdoor water pipes in the period 1995-2002. Homeowners are responsible for indoor pipes. In older buildings there is therefore a chance that lead pipes will still be present.
