METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CAST-COATED PAPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cast-coated paper having high glossiness， high smoothness and high water repellency even if the coating amount of a pigment coating layer is relatively small. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a cast coated paper according to the present disclosure includes a step of coating at least one surface of a support consisting mainly of pulp with a coating liquid for a pigment coating layer containing a pigment and an adhesive and drying the coating liquid to provide the pigment coating layer， a step of coating the surface of the pigment coating layer with a coating liquid for a nanocellulose coating layer containing nanocellulose having a number average fiber diameter of 1 nm or more and less than 70 nm and drying the coating liquid to provide the nanocellulose coating layer， and a step of casting treatment in which a rewetting liquid containing a zirconium chloride is applied to the surface of the nanocellulose coating layer and then the coating layer is brought into contact with a heated mirror surface drum while the nanocellulose coating layer remains wet.
