资源简介:
The Sevenmile Gulch site is located in southwestern Wyoming within the Green River Basin. The site is situated 18 miles west of the Green River and 1.3 miles north of the Blacks Fork River. The site sits upon the crest and slopes of a low southwest- to northeast-trending ridge at 6400 feet amsl. The ridge is actually a terrace of the Blacks Fork River that has been dissected by many small, deeply cut drainages. Pollen samples from two separate occupational surfaces dating to 1000 ± 40 RCYBP and 4850 ± 50 RCYBP, a slab-lined hearth dating to 3610 ± 50 RCYBP, a deep basin hearth dated to 4750 ± 80, and a deflated pithouse were analyzed to determine the potential economic use of plants at the site and to-evaluate the local plant community at the times of occupation. Four macrofloral samples from the occupational surface dating to 1000 ± 40 RCYBP were analyzed to provide information concerning plants used on the living floor.
